Ain't no sunshine in a local!

Written on April 15th, 2010

Song by a particular Family blaring in his ears, he stood on the platform watching the incoming locomotive, wagons trailing behind. With his behind arched at a degree perpendicular to the ground, he positioned himself, tensed, his eyes never leaving the train. As always, he knew that precise timing was important. The train thundered by; he jumped and the world jumped in after him.

A return journey

The plane burst through the clouds like a bird with newly sprouted wings. It swooped down approaching its destination. He, having awakened from a deep slumber, took a peek outside the window. There lay below a vast expanse of fertile greenery, kera trees and misty mountains. The bird taxied and after what felt like a tantalizing few hours came to a stop. Exhilarated and rejuvenated, he stepped on to the runway and took in a deep whiff of the familiar coconut oil and jasmine flowers. He looked up into the morning sun. A smile formed on his face. He knew the feeling. He was home...

Let me hear your thoughts....

Curtains Up

So here we are again, with yet another episode of “Chettas”, a show for the chettas, by the chettas and of the chettas. And tonight’s host, as always, is the very affable and very handsome Cuticura dusted Bharatchandran. Uthishtum and Amethium. Shut You!

“Welcome all, it’s my privilege and honour to introduce to you a Malayali like no other, a Malayali on the cusp of stardom, a Malayali who is to receive, shortly, the prize of a lifetime – a oneway ticket to the Gelf. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Malayali – Mridul Muralidharan”.

Thunderous applause follows. Lungis and coconut hair oil bottles thrown on stage. Mridul walks in and takes a seat. The interview starts

Why now?
Putting thoughts into words has been a yearning that I have had for quite some time now. A passionate one at that. But lackadaisical as I have been, this ‘yearning’ was put on a backburner. Well, until now. I realised that the world needs me. I needed the world, an avenue through which I could ‘assess/unleash my hidden potential’.

Have you written before?
I am not new to writing, having unleashed my above stated potential/creativity as an adolescent about my puberty filled Gelf ridden years in that “kutty” brown coloured ‘Al-Kabeer’ (oily chicken spring rolls, slurp!) diary. Oh yes, and I have also served as a sitdown comedian and have built quite the loyal following in the SMS medium (circa 2008, “The Pineapple Theory”).

Blog Genre and content?
Mystery. Humour. Short Stories. Sarcasm. Opinion. Fraud Malludom. Musings. Reviews. Kampus so on and so forth.

Final thoughts and say?
A blog long overdue. A post long overdue.
I hope to be here for sometime. I hope you visit and keep visiting.

“Come on Babyyyyy”, screams a friendly chetta from the audience.
